Bollywood powerhouse Manoj Bajpayee is gearing up to return as the beloved intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari in the highly awaited OTT series ‘The Family Man 3’, premiering on Amazon Prime Video on November 21, 2025. Ahead of the release, the actor opened up about how the creators — Raj & DK — shaped a character that feels real, grounded and instantly relatable to audiences across India.
A Character Designed to Mirror the Audience
In a recent interaction with OTT Play, Bajpayee revealed that from the very first narration, the idea behind Srikant Tiwari was crystal clear:
the audience should feel like they are watching themselves on screen.
According to him, this emotional connection is one of the primary reasons for the massive success of the franchise.
“I wanted every viewer to feel that Srikant was not a fictional character. It should feel like they are on the screen,” he shared.
Bajpayee emphasised that this relatability was not accidental. It stemmed from the strong creative synergy between him and the directors, something he considers extremely fortunate.
‘Something Clicked Immediately’: Manoj on His First Narration
Recalling his first meeting with Raj & DK at a restaurant, Manoj said the creators narrated the concept and character sketch in just 20 minutes — and yet, the connection was instant.
He could clearly visualise Srikant’s personality: his everyday struggles, his work-life balance issues, his family dynamics and his inner conflicts.
So impressed was he by the idea that even if the directors had asked him to wait for the script, he would have still said yes on the spot.
By the time he reached home that night, the first two episodes had already been sent to him, and he immediately began preparing for the role.
Crafting a Performance That Goes ‘Beyond the Writing’
The National Award-winning actor explained that he always believed the role had the potential to “go beyond the writing” and truly become a part of the audience.
The aim was simple yet powerful:
build a character rooted in authenticity, one who represents the common Indian navigating everyday chaos.
He also expressed gratitude that his vision aligned perfectly with that of the directors — something he says rarely happens.
