By The Indus Zone Media Desk | Updated: November 11, 2025 | Delhi Blast Near Red Fort
A major explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening has left the national capital in shock. At least eight people have died, and several others have been critically injured after a car blast near Gate Number 1 of the metro station.
Authorities have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Home Minister Amit Shah Holds Emergency Security Meeting
Following the blast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an urgent high-level meeting with top security officials to review the situation.
Officials attending the meeting include the Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director, NIA Director General, and Delhi Police Commissioner.
Amit Shah has directed all central and state agencies to “hunt down the culprits” and ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice.
Blast Details: Car Linked to Pulwama Resident
According to preliminary reports, the explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20 car parked near the metro station. Investigators have revealed that the car was registered under forged documents and was sold to a Pulwama resident currently residing in Faridabad, Haryana.
The connection between the car and recent explosive seizures in Faridabad is under investigation. Earlier in the day, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had recovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives from two houses in Faridabad — raising concerns about a possible coordinated terror plan.
Rescue Operation and Medical Response
Moments after the explosion, fire tenders, ambulances, and senior police officers rushed to the scene.
Several injured victims were immediately shifted to LNJP Hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have confirmed eight fatalities so far, though the number could rise as some victims remain in critical condition.
Prime Minister Modi and Delhi Officials React
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and assured that every affected person will receive proper assistance.
He also emphasized that the government would take strict action against those behind the attack.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police and National Investigation Agency (NIA) have cordoned off the entire Red Fort area and are conducting forensic analysis to determine the nature and origin of the explosives.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are currently probing the terrorism angle and have launched a nationwide investigation into possible links between the Delhi explosion and the Faridabad explosives case.
Senior officials have hinted that more details will emerge after forensic and digital evidence is analyzed.
