The Indus Zone Tech Desk | Nagpur, India | Mohan Bhagwat: “There Is No ‘Ahindu’ in India
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized the unity and shared heritage of all Indians, stating that there is no such thing as an “Ahindu” in India. He underlined that every citizen of the nation, irrespective of faith or background, is a descendant of the same ancestors — a reflection of India’s deep cultural and civilizational roots.
RSS Respects the National Flag, Says Mohan Bhagwat
Addressing ongoing criticism, Bhagwat clarified misconceptions regarding the RSS’s stance on the Indian tricolour. Responding to allegations that the organization respects only the saffron flag, he said the RSS holds both the tricolour and saffron flag in the highest regard.
“We always respect, offer tribute, and protect our tricolour,” Bhagwat said, noting that while saffron is treated as a guru within the RSS, the national flag symbolizes India’s unity, sacrifice, and pride.
Political Reactions and Calls for Ban
Bhagwat’s remarks come amid renewed political debate after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called for a ban on the RSS. His son, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, went a step further, demanding restrictions on RSS activities in government institutions and public spaces. He also questioned the organization’s registration and funding transparency.
RSS and India’s Shared Heritage
The RSS chief’s statement reinforces the organization’s long-standing narrative of national unity, cultural inclusiveness, and shared heritage. Bhagwat reiterated that India’s diversity thrives on mutual respect and historical continuity rather than division.
