By The Indus Zone Media News Desk | November 8, 2025 | CM Devendra Fadnavis on Pune Land Deal Probe Involving Ajit Pawar’s Son
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday reiterated that his government will take swift and transparent action in the ongoing Pune land deal investigation allegedly involving Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Speaking to reporters, Fadnavis firmly stated that “this government will never shield anyone guilty of wrongdoing.”
Devendra Fadnavis: FIRs Already Registered, No One Exempt
Addressing questions about the alleged irregularities, Fadnavis said that FIRs have already been registered against the company and its authorised signatories connected to the land deal.
“When an FIR is registered, it automatically covers everyone involved — those who signed, those who sold, those who carried out illegal registrations, and those who altered documents. Once the investigation identifies others, action will follow. No one has been spared,” he said.
He clarified that the Deputy Chief Minister shares the same stance, stressing that even senior officials found guilty have been suspended immediately.
“We did not waste a single minute. Officers found prima facie guilty were suspended, and cases were filed. This government hides nothing and protects no one,” Fadnavis asserted.
Details of the Alleged Pune Land Scam
The case revolves around a 40-acre plot of government-owned Mahar Vatan land in Mundhwa (Survey No. 88), reportedly transferred to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm in which Parth Pawar is a partner.
According to the complaint filed by Santosh Ashok Hingane, Deputy District Registrar, the accused — Sheetal Kishanchand Tejwani, Digvijay Amarsingh Patil, and suspended Sub-Registrar Ravindra Balkrishna Taru — allegedly conspired to evade stamp duty worth ₹6 crore during the registration of the sale deed.
Despite an official directive issued on May 9, 2025, demanding payment of ₹5.89 crore in stamp duty, the transaction was allegedly executed without collecting the required amount, causing a major financial loss to the state exchequer.
The case has been registered under Sections 316(5), 318(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, along with Section 59 of the Maharashtra Stamp Act.
The Inspector General of Registration (Pune) has already submitted an interim report to the Additional Chief Secretary (Mumbai) regarding the matter.
Registry Cancellation and Ongoing Criminal Case
Clarifying further, Fadnavis said the parties involved have applied to cancel the property registry, but the criminal case will continue regardless of that decision.
“Even if the registry is cancelled, the irregularities will still be probed. Those responsible will face strict legal consequences,” he confirmed.
The Chief Minister added that a parallel inquiry by the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) is already underway, and the entire probe will be completed within a month.
“All those involved will be identified within a month, and appropriate action will follow based on the inquiry’s findings,” Fadnavis said.
Opposition’s Criticism and Fadnavis’s Response
Opposition parties have accused the government of shielding Parth Pawar by not naming him directly in the FIR.
Responding sharply, Fadnavis said:
“Those making such allegations don’t even understand what an FIR is. When a case is registered, it covers all responsible parties. The process of law does not exempt anyone.”
He added that the government has already acted on the prima facie evidence, suspending officials and filing cases without delay.
Government’s Message: Accountability and Transparency
Fadnavis reaffirmed that his government stands for accountability, rule of law, and clean governance, emphasizing that no political influence will interfere with the inquiry.
“This government neither hides corruption nor protects the corrupt. Whoever is found guilty — be it an official, politician, or associate — will face action under due process,” he said.
The Maharashtra CM’s firm stance comes amid heightened public attention on corruption cases and administrative irregularities in land transactions across Pune and Mumbai.
